VoiceThread—Session 2: Advanced
In this session, we'll continue on from Session 1 to give you time to sign up for a VoiceThread account and start building your very own VoiceThread projects. (Note: you will need either a basic understanding of VoiceThread or will have come to VoiceThread—Session 1: Introduction in order to be prepared for this session). You will leave your first VoiceThread created and a better understanding of the ways VoiceThread can connect your classroom to the global community.

My Outline:

ADVANCED:
  • Contribute to Common VT (if you haven’t already done so)
  • Things to remember:
    • If you delete an identity or a user, all comments are gone
    • If you delete a VoiceThread: gone
  • Example of Classroom Paid Subscription (as opposed to shared account)
    • My 3rd Graders
    • Manage
      • Students can be in multiple classes
      • Easy to import students with CSV file
      • Easy to change passwords
      • When they log in: need firstname.lastname and then the “fake email” will automatically fill in.
      • Teacher can easily filter by class to see work (search)
      • Again... the SPEECH BUBBLE means you haven’t seen that comment/work yet

  • EXPORT (for a fee)

  • SHARING: Permissions given

  • DUPLICATE (with or without comments)
    • Great for “next year’s group”

  • Explore more VOICETHREADS in order to
EMBED Found VoiceThreads in my Wiki

  • What else does a paid Classroom account get you?
    • “Accountable Environment" (remember to check the last page in our shared VoiceThread for a Letter from Steve Muth from VT about this)

  • LINK FOR USB CAMERA (good for Portfolio Capture):
IPEVO Document Camera (someone asked for this link) $69!__
